Congratulations to the Co-Valedictorians and Salutatorian!

 

This year Lutheran Westland is blessed to have three gifted young ladies representing academic excellence! Congratulations to Co-Valedictorians Riley Day and Marissa Gonzales, as well as Salutatorian Tatiana Bunge.

Riley Day has been very involved during her time at Lutheran Westland! She has participated in many sports, including: cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track. She also served as the student council Vice President and as a devotion group leader. Riley attended St. Matthew Westland for grade school. After graduation, Riley will attend the University of Michigan Dearborn, where she will run cross country and major in Child Life Specialty. Riley has been honored with the Christian Scholar-Athlete Award, Outstanding Band Member, Valparaiso Leadership Scholarship and the U of M Dearborn Chancellor’s Scholarship.

Marissa Gonzales has been very busy during her time at Lutheran Westland! She’s participated in soccer, where she spent two years as team captain. She also participated with both drama and cross country. Marissa attended St. Matthew Walled Lake for grade school. Upon graduation, she will attend Grand Valley State University and will major in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Marissa has been honored with the Frederik Meijer Honors College, Letter of Commendation, Award of Distinction, Presidential Scholarship and Award for Excellence.

Tatiana Bunge has been very involved in volleyball, drama, choir and band during her time at Lutheran Westland, as well as with the Dearborn Youth Symphony and piano. She also participated in track and as a devotion group leader. Tatiana attended Guardian Dearborn for grade school. Next year she will attend Hillsdale College, where she will determine her major. Tatiana has been honored with Outstanding Choir Member, music and drama awards, and Hillsdale merit and flute scholarships.

Blessings to these talented and dedicated young ladies as they look forward to their college experience. May their faith remain a guiding force as they pursue their education!
